Health Connect not syncing (Android)
Health Connect is the standard way for Android phones to share fitness data with Activate. If your steps or workouts aren’t appearing, follow these steps.
Check that Health Connect is installed and connected
- Open the Activate app → Menu → Devices.
- Check that Health Connect is shown as connected.
- If it’s not listed, install the Health Connect app from Google Play Store first.
Check permissions
- Open your phone’s Settings and search for “Health Connect”.
- Go to App permissions and find Activate.
- Make sure Activate has permission to read Steps, Workouts, Active Calories, and Distance.
Make sure your source app writes to Health Connect
Health Connect doesn’t generate data itself — it receives it from other apps. Make sure your fitness app (Samsung Health, Google Fit, or another app) has permission to write data to Health Connect. Check this in Health Connect → App permissions → [your fitness app] → make sure “Write” is enabled.
Reconnect if needed
If everything looks correct but data still isn’t appearing: disconnect Health Connect in the Activate app (Menu → Devices), close the app completely, reopen it, and reconnect.
Good to know
• Health Connect syncing can take 4–6 hours in some cases. If you just set it up, give it time.
• On newer Android phones (Android 14+), Health Connect is built into Settings. On older phones, you may need to install it separately.
• If you have a Samsung device, see our dedicated Samsung article for additional steps.
